Cilliers Breytenbach, Dr. theol. habil. (Munich 1986), is Professor for the Literature, Religion and History of Early Christianity at Humboldt University of Berlin (Germany) and honorary Professor at the University of Stellenbosch (South Africa). He is the author of several monographs, including Grace, Reconciliation, Concord: The Death of Christ in Graeco-Roman Metaphors (Brill, 2010).

Jörg Frey, Dr. theol. (Tübingen 1996), habil. (Tübingen 1998), is Professor of New Testament with focus on Early Judaism and Hermeneutics at the Theological Faculty of the University of Zurich (Switzerland). He has published extensively on the Johannine literature (Die johanneische Eschatologie, 3 vols., 1997-2000), on the Dead Sea Scrolls and the New Testament in the context of Early Judaism.

Er ist Autor zahlreicher Veröffentlichungen zur Johanneischen Literatur (Die johanneische Eschatologie, 3 Bde., 1997–2000), zu Qumran und dem Neuen Testament im Kontext des Frühjudentums.
