Christoph Burchard, Dr. theol. (1961) and Dr. theol. habil. (1969), Göttingen, was Professor of New Testament Theology at the University of Heidelberg from 1971 to 1997. He has published books and articles on ancient Jewish literature and the New Testament, including Gesammelte Studien zu Joseph und Aseneth (Brill, 1996).
